GREEN AND MAROON
A blue border surrounds a large green rectangle and a maroon rectangle. Rothko insisted that he was not an abstract expressionist because his work expressed dramatic emotions,rather than relationships of color. As seen here with the dramatic colors and large scale canvas, Rothko used painting to express his emotions.
