RED, ORANGE, ORANGE ON RED

This painting has tangerine orange encompassed by a red stripe on top and bright orange on the bottom. Rothko was inspired by the drama and majesty of nature. In this painting he is inspired by the dramatic colors of the sunrise and sunset. Rothko envelopes the viewer in a luminosity that he is known for creating in his works.
